Hearing Loss
If you have inner ear damage do you have hearing loss?
I'm hella paranoid about my hearing. My audiologist says it's fine, but I want to join the Marines and yeah. I looked at the requirements and all, and my test says I'm in the normal range, but can you still have inner ear damage if you don't have hearing loss? I heard that military tests your hearing to make sure you can hear and to see if you have inner ear damage because it will mess up your balance.
Usually if you have inner ear damage you will also have hearing loss. But if your question is about getting into the Marines, then trust your audiologist. The Marines will give you the same kind of "push the button when you hear the beep" test and if you're in the normal range you pass. Inner ear problems can affect your balance, but that's not what they're testing for.
